Professor Charles Fine

 

Charles Fine is the Chrysler LGO Professor at MIT Sloan and the founding President and Dean of Asia School of Business. He was a founding co-director of both MIT’s Communications Futures Program and the Tata Center for Technology and Design at MIT. For over 30 years, Professor Fine has taught at MIT Sloan courses in Operations Strategy, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, and Innovation.

His research focuses on supply chain strategy and value chain roadmapping, with a particular focus on fast-clockspeed manufacturing industries. Professor Fine’s work has supported design and improvement of supply chain relationships for companies in electronics, automotive, aerospace, communications, and consumer products. His work has also examined outsourcing dynamics, with a focus on dynamic models for assessing the leverage among the various components in complex industrial value chains and the principles for value chain design, based on strategic and logistical assessments. Most recenlty, he worksin the area of operations strategy for early-stage, entrepreneurial organizations.

She is the winner of "Distinguished Woman Entrepreneur Lifetime Achievement Award" at the World Women Economic & Business Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and the winner of “Teaching Innovation & Excellence” award at Northeastern University and two-time winner of the Swiss National Science Foundation grant for young researchers have been developing collaborative relationships, projects and executive programs with over 250 companies in Southeast Asia and beyond.

Professor Loredana has working experience in the United States, India, Switzerland, Romania, Italy and Malaysia. She is an international keynote and TedX speaker that shared the stage with Steve Wozniak, Bob Geldof, ministers, deans, authors and public figures in the United States, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. Her most popular talk is “Nail it, Scale it, Sail it – An Entrepreneurial Journey” in TedX Cluj Napoca, Romania.
